Which just isn’t fair considering the vast number of DVDs we’ve already purchased and would now like to view on our PSPs. It would have helped some if Sony had bundled the UMD with the DVD like they talked about.

Realize something though, although the instructions for this free program are quite clear, there are several steps involved in this conversion process. This is the price you pay for free software. If you are looking for this to be done without you having to even think about it, it’s going to cost you.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing. PSP video 9 gets a lot of good reviews. It’s just according to how much trouble you want to go to. It is available as an immediate email download for $34.95 and boasts that it can perform this same conversion in one step and 400% faster. It also offers advanced editing features.
Probably the best part about purchasing this type of software as opposed to taking advantage of the freebie is that you don’t have to worry if you’re executing the DVD to PSP conversion right and you don’t have to bother with naming the files correctly or figuring out where to put them.
Of course, you can always try the freebie and still make a purchase if you decide to. It may take a little work but once you finish your file conversions you’ll be able to watch your favorite movies at home or on the go.
